Contact the Foster Care Trainer/Recruiter Specialist at (614)416-8712 to inquire about our treatment foster care program. The Trainer/Recruiter Specialist will return your phone call within two business days. During the call the prospective foster caregiver will receive general information and schedule a appointment to attend a informational meeting. The prospective caregiver will receive a packet in the mail within seven days of inquiry.
The prospective foster caregiver must attend the Mandatory Informational Meeting. This meeting is required before training to become a licensed foster caregiver through Rosemont. It provides an opportunity for potential caregivers to meet our staff, learn more about our program, and have their questions answered. Informational meetings are held every 2nd Tuesday of the month at 11:00am and every 3rd Thursday of the month at 5:30pm. If for some reasons the dates and times listed for the informational meetings are not convenient, the trainer/recruiter will try to accommodate scheduling for an informational meeting that may better suit your needs.
After the meeting, if you decide to continue through the process of becoming a licensed foster caregiver with Rosemont, you will be asked to sign up for the next pre-service class.
The prospective foster caregiver must attend all required pre-service training classes(36 hours), obtain a background check and submit the required paperwork. Rosemont's Licensing Specialist will review your background check, and the state required paperwork, prior to scheduling the home study process.
The home study consists of a safety audit and an extensive interview by our Licensing Specialist with all family members living in the home.
Once all the above requirements are met and completed, the Licensing Specialist will submit documentation to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services to request your foster caregiver license. The pre-service process can take anywhere from three to six months.
