Contact the Training Specialist (Charles Lerner) at 416-8730 to inquire about our treatment foster care program. The Training Specialist will return your phone call within two business days. In this call you will discuss the program; the responsibilities and the expectations of Rosemont Center foster parents. The Training Specialist will send you the Rosemont Center program brochures and an invitation to the next informal meeting.
You must RSVP to attend the mandatory 2-hr informal meeting. This meeting is required before training to become a licensed foster parent through Rosemont. It provides an opportunity for potential parents to meet our staff, learn more about our program, and have their questions answered.
After the mandatory meeting if you decide to continue through the process of becoming a licensed foster parent with Rosemont, you will be asked to RSVP for the next pre-service class.
You must attend all required pre-service training classes, obtain a background check and submit the required paperwork. Rosemont's Licensing Specialist will review your background check, and the state required paperwork prior to scheduling the home study process.
The home study consists of a safety audit and an extensive interview by our Licensing Specialist with all family members living in the home.
Once all the above requirements are met and completed, the Licensing Specialist will submit documentation to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services to request your foster parent license. Please note there is variance from the time pre-service begins to the time a parent becomes licensed. It depends on the timeliness of submitted paperwork and the completion of the home study. However, we have found that the licensing process usually averages 3-4 months.
