the aberdeen group home

The Aberdeen Group Home services is based on a continuum of care for adolescent females who are dependent, neglected, abused and have severe and chronic mental health problems.  The Rosemont staff members will operate as transition facilitators, keeping in mind the normal developmental tasks that lead to independence but with special attention to the interdependence with emotional, physical, social and spiritual supports required for successful adult functioning.

At Rosemont Center we believe that every young person has the potential to be successful if they can find that special caring adult in their life.  Not only do we provide that caring adult, but also the other assets that youth need:  Educational skills, positive peer relationships, constructive use of leisure time, a sense of family and community, and hope.

Aberdeen house is a safe, positive, nurturing place for young people to turn their lives around.  It is a place for young  girls to work on personal goals, learn more about themselves, and learn positive ways to deal with difficulties they may be facing.  Aberdeen House Program offers:  Housing for up to four girls ages 15 to 18.  Most transportation will be provided by COTA; if needed private transportation can be arranged.  Adolescents will have an educational plan that may include attending their home school, attend class at Rosemont's private non-public school, or GED preparation.  Transitional living staff will be available 24 hours a say to give support to the living environment.  Staff will act as support with helping young adults identify their strengths, skills and abilities.  Adolescents who are moving toward independence strive to reach goals based on their personal choices.  Supports that will help girls become connected with independence are relationships with family members, friends, teachers, coworkers, and communities.
